A grand brasserie, a welcome respite to winter’s chill. A fireplace glows with burning embers, illuminating wood panelled walls and woven fabrics. A homage to the outdoors, designer Dorothée Meilichzon has incorporated lamps in the shape of mushrooms hidden on the forest floor dropped atop ski motifs. Dark blues, reds and pale yellows are offset by cool metals and snow white marble.

From early morning breakfasts to dinners spent reminiscing about the day’s adventures, l’Aigle d’or is open for breakfast and dinner. A healthy breakfast spread out to kickstart the day, with freshly made granola, smoothies and perfectly cooked eggs. Dinners are steeped in cosy comfort, where bowls of Crozets de Savoie are followed by tartiflette and seafood platters are a nod to Alpine tradition and classic brasserie fare, where plates are designed to be shared.

L’aigle d’Or is the perfect place to gather and enjoy a meal filled with the gentle hum of winter’s best stories, where waiters and waitresses float throughout the room, a well-rehearsed waltz of divine service. Plates piled high with French delicacies, garnet coloured glasses of wine, the sparkle of Champagne. Val d’Isère’s newest restaurant, a place to return to again and again.

At the helm of L’Aigle d’Or and L’Aiglon, chef Rudy Ballin brings his experience working for renowned chefs Anne-Sophie Pic, Joël Robuchon, Carl Gustav and Gregory Marchand to the table, weaving fine dining with alpine nuances. His menus offer a vision of French gastronomy playfully reinterpreted to embrace mountain fare served in generous measures.

DESIGN

The spirit of the forest

Through the doors of l'Aigle d'Or, the spirit of the forest comes to life. A tapestry of logs, branches and woodwork are fundamental to the design. Textured touches balanced with natural materials. Fabrics in tonal hues, checkerboard wall coverings and mirrors bring the outside in. Patterned sofas, chairs carved in wood and a central bar topped in snow-white marble enrobed in woven leather. A journey for the eye, envisaged by Dorothée Meilichzon.

Our cocktail bar, a welcoming retreat for all

A nod to Paris, a tribute to snow-capped mountains. Tucked away inside Experimental Chalet Val d'Isère, discover the alpine outpost of Experimental Cocktail Club. By day, a quick snack between slopes, best enjoyed in the sun on the terrace. Come late afternoon and well into the evening, a discreet hideaway for clandestine cocktails, glasses of champagne and plates to share. A menu that explores Experimental classics and mountain signatures, sipped to the sound of a DJ. It's where aprés-ski takes on an elevated approach, accentuated by velvet sofas, soft carpet, lacquered wood, cool metal and low lighting.
