Standing on a cliff above the ocean, along the coast road from Anglet to Saint-Jean de Luz, our luxury spa hotel in Biarritz is an imposing Belle Époque building overlooking the bay, transformed by designer Dorothée Meilichzon as a nod to its history and legendary seaside resorts.
With a monumental 15-metre-high atrium, huge bay windows look out to the sea, an Eiffel glass roof and numerous Art Deco details, Regina Experimental is an emblematic example of Belle Epoque architecture in Basque country. The decor of the 5-star hotel has been completely restored by designer Dorothée Meilichzon, revisiting the luxury of seaside living in Biarritz. Several small lounges now welcome guests under the large glass roof in a softly lit space punctuated by dark greens and reds, blues and sandstone, ceramics and natural tones. Reinventing the score of a 1920s cocktail piano bar, sofas play on the shapes of the Itsasoan footbridge in Guéthary, creating numerous intimate spaces with hanging paper lamps by Ingo Maurer and Anthony Dickens.

Swimming at Regina Experimental
With the first rays of sunshine, the outdoor swimming pool becomes an excuse to relax and contemplate the setting on the Bay of Biarritz. Heated from late April to October, you can cool off and swim a few laps beneath bright blue skies. You may also prefer to spend the day at Grande Plage, Biarritz's main beach or the nearby Miramar beach for a swim or surf session on the Basque coast.
